Visiting hours are guided by individual patient needs and preferences. Visitors are encouraged to help maintain a restful environment for all our patients. Maps
Mail and flowers
We are happy to deliver flowers or cards to our patients. If the patient has been discharged, we will forward to their home address. Please, no latex balloons, as some patients are allergic. Also, please refrain from fragrant flowers, such as lilies, as many are sensitive to scents.
There are exceptions in critical care areas. Please call the hospital at 218-365-8710 with any questions you may have.
Meals for Visitors
Guest trays for visitors in the patient’s room may be ordered by letting your nurse know. A cash payment is due upon delivery.
The Cafeteria is on the ground floor and is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
- Soup, sandwiches, desserts and salad bar are available 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
- Cold cereal, pastries, bagels, fresh fruit, coffee and cappuccino are available all day.
- Vending snack and pop machines are also available in the cafeteria.

Long Distance: Long distance calls must be charged to a credit card or placed as a collect call.
No smoking policy – Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside our facility. We ask you to follow the instructions on the outside signs asking smokers to be 20 feet from a door. And, please be courteous to others by not gathering at the entrances.
Electrical equipment – Due to government safety codes, the following items are the only ones you may use in patient rooms:
- Battery operated shavers
- Battery operated radios
- Battery operated clocks
- Laptop computers and tablets
- Cell phone chargers
Please do not bring any other electrical equipment to the hospital.
All patients receive nutritionally balanced meals, and those with special dietary needs are accommodated by our food and nutrition staff.
- Breakfast 8:00 a.m.
- Lunch 12:00 p.m.
- Supper 5:30 p.m.

Balances are due and payable in full within 30 days of receiving your itemized statement. If you are unable to pay in full, we recommend borrowing the balance from a commercial lending institution. We also accept Visa, Mastercard & Discover. If payment in full is still not possible, please call to set up a monthly payment program. If you become eligible for a program through the State of MN, please let us know.
We will bill your insurance carrier(s) as a courtesy to you. After your insurance company(s) has processed your claim, the remaining balance is due within 30 days. If a payment in full is not possible, please call to set up a monthly payment program.
Monthly statements will be sent to all patients until the account is paid in full. A balance that indicates “pending” on these statements denotes that your insurance company has not processed this claim yet. A balance that indicates “balance due” on these statements denotes that this amount is patient responsibility.
When an account becomes past due, our credit policy allows us to either seek judgment from conciliation court, or refer past due accounts to a collection agency or to an attorney for collection. Any additional expenses for such action will become the responsibility of the guarantor. All accounts accrue finance charges at a rate of 6% annually.
If you are a privately–insured or self-pay patient your bill includes state-imposed health care taxes totaling 2%.
